Just Host domain name FAQ

Posted By

How long does it take for my DNS to resolve ?
It can take as little as 1 hour for your DNS to resolve, however, Just Host states between 24-48 hours for a domain to fully propagate (note: this is the normal domain name propagate time).

How do I renew my domain (registered with just host)?
Your domain will automatically be renewed with Just Host as long as you have an active account in our billing center. You can access your account to view your renewal date at billing.justhost.com.

Can I change my domain name after the registration?
Once your domain request has been processed Just Host is unable to make a change to the domain name. Please be sure to double-check the spelling of your domain during the ordering process since this can not be amended after the registration has been processed.

How to setup a just host parked domain?
A parked domain points a new domain name to the same directory that your primary account points to.

If you registered your domain with someone besides Just Host, make sure that the name servers are pointing to ns1.justhost.com and ns2.justhost.com. In your Just Host cPanel, select ‘Parked Domains’ under the ‘Domain’ menu and enter the domain name you wish to park in the ‘Create a New Parked Domain’ form.

  1. I am severely disappointed with JustHost.com

Every client I have done a site setup for that uses JustHost ends up having to transfer to another provider, due to being jerked around with name server updates. JustHost’s customer service keeps telling us everything is setup fine & to wait 24 – 48 hours. 5 times we updated the name servers every 48 hours over the course of 10 days, and each time the site will not pull up, so we try again and again. Not only will it not work, the most frustrating thing is that their horrible customer service people keep telling us everything is as it should be… After 10 days and 5 name server updates with no site working you think they would figure out that it is clearly not setup “as it should be.”

Instead of addressing our concerns they dismiss them as if we don’t know what we are talking about. After 3 years of providing site setups to thousands of people and having absolutely no issues with domains registered with any other registrar than JustHost.com – I’d say we aren’t exactly clueless & the problem lies with them.

I’m just one person (who has worked with multiple. Take my opinion for what it’s worth to you.
