How to transfer web hosting to HostPapa?
Posted By CheapHostingChoice
We are talking about pointing your existing domain name to HostPapa, not transfering domain registrar.
After you sign up with HostPapa as a "transferring client", you will get:
1. Immediately after signing up, you should receive an e-receipt.
2. A HostPapa representative will contact you in order to confirm your account information. This will occur within approximately 24 hours.
3. You will receive a welcome email with all the instructions of how to access your account with HostPapa, upload your content, set up your email, etc.
At this point, you may keep your existing domain registrar and simply point your Domain Name Servers (DNS) to HostPapa. Detailed instructions on how to do this are provided in your welcome email.
You can simply log into your domain control panel, and set DNS to HostPapa, for example:
ns1.hostpapa.com
ns2.hostpapa.com
If you transfer your domain to HostPapa as your primary domain, this can be your "Free Domain for Life". HostPapa will renew this domain on your behalf when the domain is expiring – for as long as you stay a customer of HostPapa!
Note: when you transfer domain hosting to HostPapa,
1. Make sure not to cancel your old account right away.
2. Set up your email addresses on HostPapa servers to match what you had previously.
3. Upload your site’s files the same way they were, into your new public_html directory.
