(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In the last keynote before lunch, Renée Bergeron, VP of managed services and cloud computing at Ingram Micro discussed how providers can lead and supply the IT channel with cloud solutions in her presentation, “Clarity of Vision in a Cloudy World”.

She started by listing the reasons to move to the cloud, an argument that anyone who is attending this conference is probably already aware of.

These benefits include business agility, cost efficiency, leverage core competencies and IT resources to focus on innovation, disaster and business continuity, and being a part of a green initiative.

With software as a service nearly doubling infrastructure as a service and platform as a service combined, it is no denying the opportunities available within the SaaS market.

She cited a recent statistic that projects cloud computing as a $44 billion market in the next two years, giving attendees a pretty firm idea of the kind of massive growth we can expect.

Bergeron explained that businesses buy cloud services because of business agility or cost-efficiency more than any other driving factor.

Resellers act as trusted advisors in building solutions for end customers, while distributors bring the buyer power and the speed to market to the resellers and end customers, she said.

She wrapped up her presentation with a brief background about Ingram’s services and how the company can help providers go to market in the channel with their cloud offerings.
