(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center provider RagingWire Enterprise Solutions (www.ragingwire.com) announced on Wednesday that it has named Dan Golding vice president and general manager of its data center in northern Virginia.
RagingWire opened its Virginia data center in May 2011 to expand its California-based services nationally.
Prior to this appointment, Golding was a managing director of DH Capital (www.dhcapital.com) where he recently advised RagingWire on its acquisition of the Ashburn, Virginia facility. Before DH Capital, Golding was vice president of research at Tier1 Research (www.tier1research.com).
RagingWire says this appointment signifies its commitment to building a management team with experienced industry insiders. Golding has gained expert status in the web hosting industry with a variety of roles in the hosting space.
“Dan has a longstanding relationship with our senior management team and assumes a vital role in our East Coast expansion plans,” said Yatish Mishra, president and CEO of RagingWire. “His key understanding of the data center industry, client needs, and high-level operational experience will be invaluable to our future growth. Dan’s mission is to maintain our impeccable availability record while exceeding client needs and growing the RagingWire platform in a new and exciting market.”
Golding has more than 15 years of experience in Internet engineering, data center design and critical facilities management.
At Tier1, Golding supervised research and consulting efforts in shared, dedicated and managed hosting areas.
“Moving from the Internet infrastructure’s leading investment bank to the nation’s most technologically advanced data center operator is an exciting challenge for me personally,” said Golding. “One of DH Capital’s key differentiators is the long-term approach it employs in building comprehensive relationships like RagingWire. I look forward to bringing the experience I gained at DH Capital to my new role at RagingWire.”
Prior to Tier1, Golding directed global peering efforts at America Online and was a nuclear engineer in the US Navy.
Golding has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Auburn University and a master’s degree in telecommunications from George Mason University.
