(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Fiber-optic network infrastructure provider euNetworks Group (www.eunetworks.com) announced on Friday that it has completed the acquisition of German-based corporate WAN provider TeraGate (www.teragate.de).

euNetworks says this acquisition is a “natural addition” following the LambdaNet acquisition in May, with an enterprise customer base primarily in the German market. Colocation firm LambdaNet has 25 data centers across Germany.

According to the press release, TeraGate has  a high-end customer base and a market leading value proposition. Its product portfolio is based on intelligent Ethernet and data center and cloud services.

“The acquisition of TeraGate was a natural next step for us following the LambdaNet acquisition as we continue to develop our German business,” Brady Rafuse, chief executive officer of euNetworks said in a statement. “TeraGate has a great customer base, who predominantly purchase multiple services across 7 of the existing euNetworks metropolitan markets in Germany. Leveraging euNetworks’ legacy metropolitan footprint, we expect to be able to bring over 50 buildings on-net, eliminating network expense. Additionally, LambdaNet’s Pan German footprint and operations are expected to provide further synergies.”   

TeraGate is headquartered in Munich and as a technical headquarters in Frankfurt.

“This transaction will provide greater service options across a wider geography for TeraGate’s customers,” Jürgen Hansjosten, chief executive officer of TeraGate said in the press release. “The network footprint and portfolio now available to our customers will continue to strengthen the trusted relationships we have in place today. Furthermore, we can now deliver scalable solutions more efficiently and effectively to enterprises who rely on us for their communications needs.”
