(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Quality Technology Services (www.qualitytech.com) announced on Tuesday it has formed a new enterprise solutions team devoted entirely to its custom data center services.

The move comes nearly a month after the company opened its new 1.3 million square foot data center campus near Richmond, Virginia about two months ahead of schedule.

Focused on large-scale footprints that often require complex configurations, the enterprise sales team offers comprehensive data center, connectivity, and managed service solutions to fully meet the needs of large enterprises.

This national team is available help customers who are looking to build data centers that range from 500KW to 5MW in 2,500 to 50,000 square foot configurations.

One of Quality Tech’s first deals is a major international consulting firm, whose name it did not disclose, that has pre-leased 13,500 square feet of space and up to two megawatts of power in a new expansion space in its Suwanee, Georgia data center.

“In today’s market, with IT and IT infrastructure being critical to efficient, effective business, QTS recognized the need to have an experienced team dedicated to create large-scale, high-quality, custom data center solutions for customers to meets these needs,” says Tesh S. Durvasula, chief marketing and business officer for QTS. “Our new Enterprise Team will allow QTS to offer flexible, scalable solutions for clients who do not want to be locked into a defined solution when they know their needs are going to change. Our Custom Data Center is the most unique product offering in the sector for the large enterprise user.”

The 15,000 square foot expansion was designed to meet the demands of the global consulting client.

The new space provides about 13,500 square feet of customized, raised-floor data center space with up to two megawatts of power in a 2N power configuration, as well as a redundant, chilled water cooling system with N+1 cooling capacity and 1,500 square feet of fully appointed office space dedicated to that customer.

Quality Tech completed the build in about 90 days using existing space at the SUW data center.

The company’s custom data center solution offer a cost-effective alternative to building out proprietary data center space, much like the services offered by Digital Realty Trust.

The customized data centers offer high-bandwidth connectivity, as well as a complete suite of managed services such as cloud and managed hosting.

The enterprise sales team is “uniquely trained in how to best configure all available options to meet any customer need,” says the company.

Quality Tech has 12 data center locations in seven states, which it owns, operates and manages.

The data centers contain more than 3.1 million square feet of secure infrastructure and supports more than 600 customers.
