Security Firm CloudPassage Launches Two SaaS Services

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – SaaS security firm CloudPassage (www.cloudpassage.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched its Halo Server Vulnerability Management and Halo Firewall products for server security for cloud infrastructures.
According to the press release, the products deliver fast and accurate server exposure assessment, configuration compliance monitoring, and network access control.
CloudPassage says its Halo SVM functions quickly and efficiently “enabling customers to maintain continuous exposure and compliance intelligence, even in rapidly growing cloud server farms.”
“Security and privacy will continue to be a critical priority for us as we dramatically increase the number of users and venues that Foursquare serves,” Foursquare senior operations engineer David Birdsong said in a statement. “We need server security that includes nonstop vulnerability management and firewalling – and we need it to automatically keep up with our cloud environment. We have been impressed with the accuracy and performance of CloudPassage, and it has taken very little time to deploy and manage.”
According to CloudPassge, its Halo Firewall controls server attacks by centralizing and automating host-based firewall management. It automatically updates whenever cloud servers are added or removed – including server cloning or cloudbursting operations – without intervention from system administrators.
The new Halo products are CloudPassage’s first two products. The Halo SVM and Halo Firewall products come in free versions, enabling users to secure unlimited cloud servers. The products can be downloaded from the CloudPassage website. The company will offer advanced features as paid upgrades.
