Don’t forget to backup your WordPress blog
Posted By CheapHostingChoice
If I ask you how often do you back up your blog, what are you going to answer me? There are many people that never backup their WordPress blogs. If I ask you do you have a backup for your website? Most people will say "Yes". Why people like to backup a website other than a WordPress blog? There are many reasons for this question, such as a website is more easy to get problems than a WordPress blog, a blog is updated more often than a regular site, etc.
What I want to say is if your database gets erased or corrupted, you will lose everything you have written in your blog. Your WordPress database contains every post, every comment and every link you have. If that happened, all of your hard work would be destroyed because of no backup. There are many reasons why this could happen and not all are things you can control. But what you can do is back up your data. It is very important. Right?
What need to backup?
You need to backup your WordPress Site and WordPress Database. Except for database, your WordPress site includes WordPress Core Installation, WordPress Themes, WordPress Plugins, Images and Files, Javascripts, PHP scripts, and other code files, Additional Files and Static Web Pages.
How to backup?
You can find most details at http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups. You can use the backup software (if your web host provides one), FTP, or other methods to backup your WordPress site. You can backup the database by accessing phpMyAdmin.
I use plug in of "WordPress Database Backup" to backup my blog database. I think it’s easier than using phpMyAdmin to make backups. I also use my email to subscribe the RSS feed for my own blog. As soon as my blog updated, I will get a copy of the posts in my mail box. In case I forget to make a backup and the database happen to corrupted, I still have a copy in my mail box.
